The De La Salle Club has had its home at Beauchief in the wonderful presence of Beauchief Hall since 1970. For many years the club was in the Hall itself, before we moved to a custom-built stone clubhouse in 1987.

Sports at De La Salle

The De La Salle Old Boys Cricket Club got the ball rolling at our Beauchief home when the club started. This was quickly followed by many other sporting activities. What continues today is cricket, golf, crown green bowling, Abbeydale Archers, petanque and of course beautiful surroundings to stroll around. Additional sporting activities may be added in the future.

The social club at De La Salle

Music can be found every Thursday evening, performed by the Club’s very own Bungalow Band, at which Elvis frequently guests.

Each year the De La Salle Players don the greasepaint and brave a wide-ranging audience from the club and beyond.

In addition a yearly “radio-play” runs for two nights, which again shows off the talents of the De La Salle players and specially invited guests.

Four or 5 times a year the members, and guests, recite their favourite poems with an introduction for what the verses mean to them.

We also run a regular acoustic night, when the electrics of the band are replaced by the club’s musicians, unplugged: an eclectic mix of folk, blues, and fusions seen nowhere else. . .

Other occasional music nights featuring the club’s and guest musicians regularly appear in the entertainment diary.

And don’t forget the monthly quiz. . .
